Tri-Counties African Violet Society
The Tri-Counties African Violet Society is a new club, formed in November 2006, although the founding members have been with other African violet clubs in the area for many years. The club has approximately 20 members, from beginners to very advanced growers. Within this group, there are 7 judges--2 master judges, 2 senior judges, and 3 advanced judges. Since there are only 14 judges in Southern California region, the Tri-Counties African Violet Society is well represented. The club meets the second Sunday of each month at the East Anaheim Hills Community Center from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the public is always welcome at no charge.

Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine - Pacific Palisades
This 10-acre venue was created by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1950 with help from California's premier horticulturist Luther Burbank. The garden's wood-chip trail, shaded by high green slopes, surrounds L.A.'s only spring-fed lake. The international plantings symbolize global harmony. The setting is undescribably serene.

  Nurseries - Additions

Laguna Nursery - Laguna Beach
Located on a historic nursery site with ocean views, the new owner (Ruben Flores) reverted to the location's original name from decades ago. The completely redesigned multi-level nursery is a treat to explore. The emphasis is on garden art and fountains, both contemporary and traditional; new pieces arrive often from worldwide sources, including Eastern Europe. Nursery stock is well tended and attractively displayed. Landscape services also offered.
